The Green Bay Jr Gamblers Midget AAA program is looking to match our out of town student athletes with families that are enthusiastic about the great sport of hockey, who would be interested in housing a skater during the upcoming hockey season. The players range from 16 to 19 years age. Because these are teenagers who are a long way from home, it is essential to provide them with a stable environment during their stay in Green Bay. It is the commitment of our organization to the players and their families that we provide them with a good home.
Housing families receive $250.00 per month per player. This amount may be prorated, depending on when the player arrives or departs. Payment comes directly from the Jr Gambler organization and arrives on the 1st of the month in which the player is staying in your home.
The players arrive late in August and are in Green Bay until early to mid March. We try to schedule around the Holidays to let our players go home to be with their families.
The housing families are not required to provide the player with transportation. Most of the players who have graduated form high school will either have a part time job or are taking a
College course while they are here.
We have team guidelines and policies that the players must follow while with our organization. We also ask our housing families to enforce these team rules. If you have your own set of “house rules,” you need to communicate those rules to your player when he arrives. Curfew for our players is 10:30 pm during the week, and 11:00 pm on the weekends. The Jr Gamblers will do everything possible to make sure that this is a rewarding experience for both the player and the housing family.
If you have an interest in housing a player this upcoming season or have questions, contact Mike Buchan.
