iCoach is a web-based coaching tool that will allow our coaches and players to simultaneously watch and analyze video of themselves with such tools as “frame-by-frame” playback and tools that highlight suggestions, techniques and areas of focus. By giving both the coach and the athlete the ability to utilize these tools, iCoach offers a truly interactive coaching and learning system available nowhere else. The Jr. Gamblers were chosen as a pilot organization for this service for the 2007-08 season, and are pleased to offer this incredible tool to its members this season.
General Overview:
iCoach gives the player the opportunity to be coached like the pro’s without leaving home. Video is taken of your player, either by the parent or the team and is then uploaded to the iCoach website. The player will be able to make an appointment with their coach (based on the coach’s posted availability using the iCoach Calendar, to review the video. The coach and player then meet over the phone and internet (soon to be adding VoIP) to simultaneously view the video via the iCoach web site. The coach and player can then use this as a coaching/learning opportunity to reinforce good play and make any corrections that are necessary-pictures are worth a thousand words. What this means to you as parents is that together we can raise the level of instruction your child receives without you having to spend more time at the rink. What this does for the coaches is give them a tool to bring the out the best in their players through the use of video within the confines of their busy schedule. What this does for the players is to see themselves making good plays and mistakes so they can reinforce good play and correct and/or recognize mistakes. Players also have the ability to revisit and review their video at anytime from their own library of clips on their own to reinforce what they’ve learned.

The Jr Gamblers have several video cameras available for the use by players, coaches, and parents in utilizing the iCoach program.
