On February 18^th the 99 Jr Gamblers skated to a 2 to 2 tie with the Chicago Young Americans for their own Winter Outdoor Classic at the Winter Club in Lake Forest, IL.  Even though ESPN and the NHL network were not present, the atmosphere was fantastic and the kids gave it their all for both teams.  It was an event that the kids and coaches will remember all of their lives.  Who knows, maybe someday one of the kids will look back and say to his new teammates, on whatever NHL club he may be on, “Hey, I already played in a Winter Classic”.
