Sam Dougherty Selected by the NAHL Bismarck Bobcats

Sam Dougherty, a forward with the Green Bay Junior Gambler Midget Team, was recently selected by the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL in the 5th round.

Sam began playing hockey at the age of four with the Green Bay Youth Hockey Association. He joined the Green Bay Junior Gamblers in 2002. Sam’s goal is to play Division 1 college hockey.

Sam and his family are charter members of the Green Bay Junior Gamblers. He is the son of Lisa and John Dougherty. Hockey runs in the Dougherty family. John played in the USHL in 1978 and Wisconsin Badgers from 1979-81. Sam’s Grandfather Richard played for the University of Minnesota, the 1956 Olympic Team and the original Greenbay Bobcats USHL. Richard is in the NHL hockey hall of fame.
